Arsenal Vs Kairat (My first Men’s match) Champions League UEFA
THE JOURNEY TO ARSENAL STADIUM
On the 28th January 2026 at Wednesday, Me and Daddy left home at 5:30pm for the MK train station nearby. We parked in Network Rail some 10 minutes later at like 5:45pm.Our train was originally intended at 5:55pm, but since it was delayed 5 minutes we boarded at 6pm.The train, an Avanti west coast on carriage B near the back, left some 5 minutes later. At 6:45pm, we reached London Euston railway station. We didn’t really stay and took the tube at 6:55pm.Tubes were every 5 minutes, and we took the 2nd since our arrival. We went to Highbury and Islington from the tube, and as soon as we exited at 7:10pm at the station, many Arsenal fans were there.
Daddy supported Arsenal, and I supported 75% Crystal Palace and 25% Arsenal. We walked to the Emirates (Arsenal) stadium with many others, and it seemed as if the closer we walked, the more Arsenal fans we spotted. I saw these 2 benches, but Daddy spotted a bench and a bin next to it, so we moved there to eat my cheese and onion sandwich. Daddy had a tuna sandwich. At 7:35pm, we finished our sandwiches and my crisps. We then saw the one and only Emirates stadium for the 2nd time (we had watched women matches before).
THE MATCH
We reached the Emirates stadium, that had 50,200 people, at around 7:45PM.We walked to the A seats area we had booked, but when we reached like 10 minutes later, we realised we had walked all the way around. We went through the probably securitised bars which was not long and went to our seats, which weren't that high, as we were in the bottom row. At 7:59PM (19:59), the players began to walk out. The teams walked next to each other in a somewhat synchronised movement, and the match began at 20:00 (8PM).Arsenal began with the ball, and later after 2 mins from an assist from Kai Havertz, Victor Gyokeres, in Arsenal, scored a goal, making it 1:0.At 7 minutes, at 20:09, Calafiori in Arsenal fouled a Kairat (a team from Almaty, Kazakhstan) player.
They spotted an opportunity, and Jorginho, in Kairat, scored a goal against Arsenal UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) goalkeeper Kepa Arizabalaga. Arsenal scored back, though, and with an assist from a corner by Ben White, Kai Havertz scored a goal at 15 minutes. When Ben White was taking the corner, Arsenal fans started shouting, "Red Army!". Arsenal were just too good for Kairat Almaty, (The full name) and at 36 minutes with an assist from Victor Gyokeres, Gabriel Martinelli scored a goal against UEFA Kairat goalkeeper Temirlan Anarbekov. At Half Time at 45 minutes, we had a break. After Half Time, the "Go Kairat!" thing upleveled itself. From what started as hardly any 1 minute Go Kairat!, people on one corner of the stadium began doing it sometimes. Whenever they would, I would say, Boo Kairat!.There was another goal by Kairat at 94 mins, assisted by V.Gromyko and scored by Ricardinho, but we left at 70 mins to catch the train back. The match was still very good, which is why I made a blog about it.
THE JOURNEY BACK
At 21:30, we left. School was tomorrow, and I certainly did not want to be sleepy. We exited through those probably securitised bars, and when we left, we couldn't re-enter. We went back to the Highbury and Islington, with some other kids and people. We took a tube at 9:45 and left at London Euston, 2 stops after, and the stop after Highbury and Islington was King's cross St. Pancras. We reached at 21:50, and Daddy had originally planned to take the 22:30 train, but since we were here so quickly, we took the one that would leave at 22:03.We reached Milton Keynes at 22:45, and when we reached home at 23:00, Mai was happily surprised I was home so quickly, for she was expecting us to be here like 23:45 and she was worried I would have school tomorrow and I would sleep like midnight.
